Hello followers!

I have created a page on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest that I would like to share with you. This is for an online magazine/non-profit organization that I have in the works with the help of Killi’s doctor. We saw a need for an easy to understand, online resource center and forum specifically focusing on human/childhood development and parenting; for parents, teachers, therapists, and really anyone who works with children in one way or another.

Parenting is just one big game of dodge ball

20140308-182729.jpg

I knew having a special kid would change my life and my perception of what “parenting” was all about. I know we all have our moments with our children; good and bad. Although, sometimes I feel as if I am a women stranded on a deserted island making smoke signals and screaming for help. Similar to Tom Hanks in Castaway but instead of having Wilson (who mind you doesn’t speak) I have a toddler screaming at me in frustration because he is trying so hard to communicate but simply can’t get the words out.

I wanted to share with you my bold leaps out of my comfort zone into something totally new where I believe God is calling me. I am so excited about these different opportunities because I know I will learn so much that will lead to great career path prospects down the road.

A Little Boy Making Big Progress

King of the road!

King of the road!

As you know Killi has completed his first term of therapy, we are now in the second term and hopefully when he has finished this round he will be ready for school in September. Since Killi has improved greatly on his social skills we are focusing more on the speech. It’s pretty exciting as a parent when your kid, who was almost completely nonverbal, is now blabbering on all the time. I just wanted to share with you some of the new words that he is saying.

It’s always fun for us to have guests come visit, especially when they visit us in our new home in Bangkok. We now have the ability to share some of these unique cultural experiences with our friends and family. This Christmas, my in-laws came to visit us for two weeks and we had everyday planned out for them so they could experience as much of Thailand as they could possibly handle.
